Erdmann’s Gardens & Greenhouses is a family owned and operated farm located in Westlock County, Alberta. We grow a wide variety of vegetables, potatoes and bedding plants, hanging baskets and planters. Our products are available at four Farmers’ Markets in Edmonton and area and also at the farm. We farm sustainably and ethically, we are not certified organic. We do soil tests in the fall and, in spring, apply the necessary fertilizer and micro nutrients to replenish the soil. We also re-incorporate the plants into the soil for organic matter. Registered sprays are used sparingly, when necessary.
We enjoy eating the produce we grow, and we hope you do too.
Greenhouse season has come and gone! Veggies are coming along and have enjoyed the rain we have had.
Outdoor markets are in full swing. Callingwood Farmers’ Market started on May 1st and runs until October 9, 2016. You can find us there on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Wednesdays from 2p.m. to 6 p.m.
City Market on 104th Street runs Saturdays from 9 am to 3 pm. You will find us at the west end of the market on 102 Ave.
St. Albert Farmers’ Market is up and running also, Saturdays from 10 am to 3 pm. There you’ll find us in stalls 46,48, 50 and 52.
Unfortunately, as our lives continue to evolve, we had to make the decision to not attend the Fort Saskatchewan Farmers’ Market this year.
The markets we attend are all Alberta Ag Approved markets, which means they are required to have at least 80% of the vendors either “make it, bake it or grow it”. It seems lately there has been a lot of new markets starting up and some do not meet these requirements. Another reason to “know your farmer”, and what they produce.
Check out our ‘Find us at the Market’ page for more information.
For July and August we will be open at the farm, Wednesdays and Fridays, noon to 8 pm. and Saturdays 10 am to 6 pm starting on July 2nd.
We look forward to seeing you! Take care!
